According to Yesufu, the coming days will play a major role in shaping Nigeria’s future, and her political choices are guided by her belief in Obi’s vision for national transformation.
She noted that her move to the NDC reflects a commitment she made when she initially aligned with Obi’s political movement.
She explained that her earlier decision to join the ADC was tied to that same political conviction, stressing that she remains committed to keeping her word. However, she said the transition to the NDC represents a new phase in her political journey.
For the first time, Yesufu revealed that she is not merely joining a political platform as a supporter but is actively seeking elective office by contesting for the FCT Senate seat.
The activist also clarified that she exited the ADC after properly concluding all responsibilities within the party, describing her departure as orderly and respectful.
She expressed appreciation to party members, stating that she had the privilege of working with committed individuals focused on national progress.
Reflecting on her time in the ADC, Yesufu highlighted her service in several leadership roles, including as sub-committee chair, deputy committee chair, and secretary.
Widely recognised as a co-convener of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, Yesufu later became one of the most visible faces of the “Obidient” movement during the 2023 elections.
