The Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Daniel Bwala, has criticised Nigeria’s opposition parties, describing them as disorganised and out of touch with citizens’ real problems....WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
According to a report by Arise News on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, speaking during a TV interview, Bwala said opposition politicians focus more on blaming the government than offering clear and practical solutions. He argued that many of them are driven by personal ambition rather than a shared vision for the country.
Bwala compared their actions to that of Bola Tinubu after leaving office in 2007, saying Tinubu focused on building a strong political structure instead of constantly seeking positions.
He also dismissed recent movements between parties like ADC and NDC as signs of confusion, not strategy. According to him, these shifts show a lack of direction and weak internal planning among opposition members.
On questions about his own party changes, Bwala refused to respond directly. He insisted that the media should first examine the reasons behind Peter Obi’s frequent party switches before questioning others.
Bwala further rejected claims that millions of people joined a new political movement within 48 hours, calling such figures unrealistic. He added that politicians often move to parties where they have a better chance of getting tickets, not because of loyalty.
In his words, “No, I don’t even have time to answer that question until the media interrogates Peter Obi who has been jumping up and down.”
