The senator representing Abia South voiced his concerns during an interview on TV Platinum, where he discussed recent political developments surrounding ministerial resignations and the process of filling vacant cabinet positions across the country.
Abaribe’s remarks come amid increasing public conversation about political representation, federal balance, and compliance with constitutional provisions guiding appointments into key government positions.

Abaribe maintained that every state deserves equal representation in the federal cabinet, especially considering the constitutional framework designed to prevent marginalization and encourage national unity.
He pointed out that other states whose ministers vacated office have reportedly received swift replacements, making the continued vacancy affecting Abia State particularly troubling.
The senator warned that the absence of a minister from the state could have wider implications beyond symbolic representation.
