Momodu suggested that Obi’s decisions might be affected by his supporters, implying that some of them had already established conditions about possible political partnerships.

He mentioned remarks from well-known personalities like Aisha Yesufu and Pat Utomi, who openly shared their disapproval of Obi taking a vice-presidential position.

He continued by saying that the influences within a party and the perceptions of political strength often impact choices, particularly before significant elections.

He stated, “Obi fears his supporters. They have warned him in advance that if he were to accept being vice president to anyone, they would reject him. They mentioned it. Aisha Yesufu mentioned it. Pat Utomi said it. They all made it known openly. So let’s stop pretending. Obi did not depart because of Atiku Abubakar. Obi left because he realized he didn’t have the ability to compete with Atiku and even Rotimi Amaechi. Many people underestimate Amaechi. Amaechi is not insignificant in today’s political scene.”
